**This year, the Florida Nurse Practitioner Network will be collecting donations of school supplies at our annual meeting to benefit the Women’s and Children’s Shelter at the Salvation Army. Please bring your donations of backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, markers, crayons, paper, etc. to the designated donation table during the conference. You will receive a raffle ticket for each donation.
The Salvation Army Women’s and Children’s Shelter serves the Orlando Metropolitan Area as a 62 bed facility for women and children experiencing homelessness. This facility provides a warm and safe environment to women and children in need of emergency shelter and women and children seeking to make the transition from homelessness to stable housing.
Through their partnership with Housing and Urban Development, they offer a Supportive Housing Program and through our partnership with The Veteran’s Administration, they offer transitional programs to women veterans who are experiencing homelessness, the only shelter of this kind in Central Florida.
