By registering and submitting payment to attend the conference in person, you acknowledge your understanding and affirm that FNPN will not be held responsible for any illness that may be contracted at the venue and we are released of all liabilities. 

To reduce the risk of infectious disease transmission, FNPN will follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the State of Florida current guidelines for Covid precautions at gatherings and local guidelines or regulations, in place at the time of this event.

FNPN encourages attendees to feel free to bring and use their own PPE of choice during the conference and we will provide at the registration desk a limited quantity of face masks and hand sanitizer for registered attendees and speakers.

Registration Refund and Cancellation Policy

Refunds will not be issued after July 31, 2022

Cancellations: All cancellations require written notification to FNPN at FloridaNPNetwork@gmail.com. Please Note: If you cancel your conference registration, please cancel your housing reservation.

FORCE MAJEURE: In the event FNPN should find it necessary to cancel or postpone the FNPN 2022 Annual Conference for any reason, including but not limited to low registration, strikes, acts of nature, war, terrorist acts, Covid-19 or other circumstances beyond FNPN's control, FNPN's liability shall be limited to refund of registration fees paid minus any fees incurred by FNPN.

Refunds: Refunds on paid registrations will be issued for written cancellation requests received via email no later than July 31, 2022 midnight. All refunds will be issued for the paid registration minus a $50 administrative fee or a $25 administrative fee for a student/retired registration.  Refunds will not be issued after July 31, 2022 midnight.

Returned Checks: An administrative fee of $150 will be charged for all checks returned to FNPN for insufficient funds.

No Shows: If you do not cancel in writing to FNPN and do not attend, you still are responsible for payment.

    Derm Workshop --Woundapalooza - Lets Wound! -- Location: Grand Ballroom 13-14

    Course Introduction: Learn to perform and perfect your clinical procedures skills! This workshop for great for beginners and skilled practitioners alike who need an update or to re-train. Upon completion of this live interactive course, the participants should be able to:1) Recall scope of practice and informed consent for wound care, 2) Identify various suture materials, needles, and equipment for suturing techniques, 3) Describe how to evaluate and assess wounds to determine the proper procedure for best outcome in wound repair. The course covers wound types and preparation for repair with hands-on practice for procedures & various closure techniques (Knot tying, staples, steri-strip, punch biopsy, simple interrupted, simple continuous & figure of eight stitches, removal of a foreign body (i.e. fish hook), cyst removal and I&D procedure with packing). Faculty will discuss patient education for home care of wounds. Students will be able to demonstrate advanced wound closure techniques such as horizontal mattress stitch, corner stitch, and vertical mattress suture. The lecture will include patient education, billing, and coding procedures.

    This is FNPN's first workshop focusing on Acute Care for both our hospital and primacy care based NP clinicians. The team provides up to date best practice to improve outcomes and optimize collaboration of acute and primacy care patient management. Discussion includes antibiotic guidelines and resistance for the acute care population, determining risk and recommendations for pre-surgical non-cardiac procedures, chest radiography and diagnostic testing, national guideline updates for Chest Pain /Acute Coronary Syndrome, differential diagnosis for syncope. and ethical end of life decisions for the hospital patient.
    *Please note: All 3 workshop courses will take a lunch break (on your own) from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

    Workshop CMV Medical Examiner Training Course: History Overview and Regulation -- Location: Grand Ballroom 13-14

    The content in this 5 hour training program meets the requirements in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) final rule for the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (National Registry) Core Curriculum Specifications. In accordance with 49 CFR 390.105(b), this training includes the eight topics which must be covered in the core curriculum specifications, including medications, contraindicated for commercial drivers, drugs of concern, and drug testing. Must sign in for AM and PM sessions to receive a separate participation certification. Following completion of this training, participants will receive the proof of training certificate required to take the NRCME examination in addition to CE credits.

    It's our honor to welcome Rear Admiral Susan Orsega, a long-time champion of our nation's public health and one of the most recognized nurse practitioners, to speak on the NP role in leading healthcare transformation! Currently, RADM Orsega is the Senior Advisor to Assistant Secretary for Health (ASH) and U.S. Surgeon General. The Admiral has held numerous leadership positions at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in her 32-year career. Prior to this assignment, she served as Acting Surgeon General from January 26, 2021 - March 25, 2021, pending the Senate confirmation of Dr. Vivek H. Murthy as the 21st Surgeon General. Her presentation will focus on the role nurse practitioners play in the future fight against public health crises such as COVID-19 and current mental health, Identify skills needed to address health through practice, program, and policy strategies focused on health care across all populations we serve, and identify how nurse practitioners' roles fit into the picture of health care delivery excellence.

    Dr. Wilson is a subject matter expert as a NP in the field of Endocrinology and will explore the roles of native GLP-1 in T2D pathophysiology. Review the recommendations from national association guidelines on the treatment options after metformin in the T2D treatment algorithm. Evaluate the efficacy and safety results from a mono-therapy trial of a once-daily GLP-1 RA as well as 2 other head-to-head clinical trials, including vs an SGLT-2i and a DPP-4i. Evaluate the safety data from a cardiovascular outcomes trial, followed by dosing and administration information.
