She has enjoyed a long career as a family nurse practitioner, faculty member, academic administrator, and scholar. She maintains an active clinical practice in Tampa, Florida. Research interests include primary prevention as well as nursing and public health history. Topics that promote inclusion and advancement of the evolving role of the nurse practitioner have been a recurring theme in her writing. Dr. Curry is a fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and is an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International, as well as local and state nursing organizations.
