Additional Information

December marks 3 years since the release of the IOM Future of Nursing report.  To mark the anniversary, there is an event in Washington with an update by Donna Shalala.  I'm sure most of us know what a dynamic speaker she is.  The event is being simulcast, and it has been suggested as an outreach effort, that states hold viewing parties.  I have included the information below on the event.  I think this would be a great opportunity to get our message out.  Gather together in your NPs groups, at the nursing schools and bring other HCWs to view it with you (fellow RNs, NPs, PAs, MDs, DOs) and your local legislators, business leaders, or anyone just interested in health care and nursing's many solutions to the healing of Florida!

Here is the information:

Join us for the 2013 Richard and Hinda Rosenthal Lecture!"Back to the Future of Nursing: A Look Ahead Based on a Landmark IOM Report"

Featuring some of the nation's leading health care experts, the event will highlight the impact of the report through implementation of recommendations at both the national and local level, discuss the continued work of the Campaign for Action, and chart future directions and priorities for the nursing profession.

The event will be live webcast to provide access to viewers nationwide. Several sites will be listed, and hoping others will add on.
