What a Great Way to Start the New Year! Nursing Volunteerism Honored!
Great national publicity for a nursing colleague Sally Bixby, RN. Today, Bixby is the first nurse and only the second woman to lead the Tournament of Roses Association in its 124-year history, Bixby, who retired from the nursing three years ago after a 38-year career, worked as an operating room scrub nurse for six years at Methodist Hospital of Southern California in Arcadia. She then moved into management, ultimately working as director of surgical services at the Arcadia hospital and again at City of Hope in Duarte.
