The Zika Virus: What We Know Now

Presented by: Aimee Ferraro, PhD, MPH, Core Faculty, School of Health Sciences at Walden University
As we continue to gather and decipher information regarding the Zika virus, it is clear the priorities and concerns have shifted in the last few months. While average day to day symptoms are proving more benign, new details have emerged that may put future families at greater risk for long-term medical complications.

What has changed and what are the key takeaways you need to know moving forward?

Join Walden University's on the ground faculty expert, Dr. Aimee Ferraro, as she takes a deeper dive into:

  • Understanding the latest guidelines on the management of pregnant women at risk for Zika virus infection, along with new timelines families should consult in planning.
  • Reviewing the most up-to-date guidelines on sexual transmission, including new findings regarding display of symptoms to transfer of the virus.
  • Highlighting the key areas where the virus is spreading, including new locations in the United States.
