FNPN Cares

Posted over 6 years ago by Arlene Wright

While many of us here in Florida have experienced severe rain and flooding this weekend, the remnants of hurricane Harvey and the devastation along the Texas coast serves as a reminder of just how powerful these storms can be. Many of our colleagues are inquiring about what they can do to help others during these disasters. The Red Cross and other great charities are mobilized now and donations are always needed. A call out for psychiatric professionals to help those traumatized in Texas was posted by Red Cross this weekend.

Please check with the local chapters of Red Cross and if you are aware of any local groups needing our NP support, we can post the information on our site.
In the meantime, all nurse practitioners may want to look at the Florida state website to review two volunteer programs established by state law.

In addition there are always volunteer opportunities via local free clinics or events in your community. It's a great way to help those in need in a special way. Check out opportunities and volunteer, it enriches your career and saves lives!
