New Key Note speaker for the upcoming FNPN Conference on July 16th & 17th.

We welcome Mimi R. Clark Secor, MS, M.Ed, APRN, FNP-BC, FAANP as our new Key Note speaker for the upcoming FNPN Conference on July 16th & 17th. Ms. Secor is an expert clinician and has been an NP Entrepreneur for many years. Her presentation is entitled "Entrepreneurial Ventures for Nurse Practitioners: Advance Your Career and the Profession Today".

Ms. Secor has been a Family Nurse Practitioner for 33 years specializing in Women’s Health. She currently practices nursing at Newton Wellesley ObGyn, Newton, Massachusetts and the Minute Clinic. Ms. Secor is a national consultant and speaker on women’s health and practice issues. She is also an NP Radio Host for ReachMD “Partners in Practice”, a dynamic new health related radio show dedicated to showcasing what NPs can do.

Ms. Secor earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts in 1995 and her Master’s Degree in Education from Antioch University, (now Cambridge College) in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1979 . She is President Emerita/Senior Advisor, Board of Director, NPACE and a former NPACE President/CEO from 2001 to 2005. Ms Secor is a visiting scholar at Boston college and Guest Lecturer at Mass General Hospital Institute of Health Professions.

From 1993 to 1999 Ms. Secor worked in Bethel, Western Alaska providing primary care to a diverse population including Yupik (“you pick”) Eskimos. She owned and operated an independent practice for 12 years in Cambridge, Massachusetts and has worked in Emergency Care, College Health, Private Practice, Prisons and Rural Clinics. Ms Secor has received several awards in Patient Care and Education, has published numerous articles and book chapters on women’s health. Ms. Secor is coauthor with Helen Carcio of the 2010 second edition, Advanced Health Assessment of Women: Skills and procedures, by Springer Publishing.

She is a member of many professional organizations including the National Honor Society - Sigma Theta Tau, AANP, ANA, MARN, MCNP (a founder), ARHP, NPWH, American College of Clinicians a National organization for NPs/PAs and the National Speakers Association/NSA.

Ms. Secor has extensive media experience including numerous radio, TV and newspaper/magazine interviews including Good Morning America, WBZ in Boston, local radio stations across the country, the Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, Bridal Guide, Cosmo Girl, and other national magazines.
