Your patients need your advocacy!
Progress is being made on legislation to permit nurse practitioners to order home health for our Medicare patients. We now have 75 cosponsors for our Home Health Bill (HR 4993 Home Health Care Improvement Act). The goal is to have 100 cosponsors by the August recess. We have 25 to go! The more sponsors, the greater the likelihood that the bill will be passed so we need as many sponsors as we can get.
Sample letters are available on the AANP website at www.aanp.org. All you have to do is click on the picture of the Capital where it says "Advocacy Center" and fill in the requested information and it will automatically go to your Representatives and/or Senators. You can also find hard copies of the sample letters under the legislation section of the website.
With your help we can reach our goal and get this long awaited legislation passed.
