Presidents Message

Dr. Arlene Wright, President

2018 is proving to be a busy and exiting year for our FNPN community! The conference /education committee led by Emily Bell has been hard at work finalizing our plans for the upcoming conference to be held at the Orlando World Marriott August 16-18th , 2018.  Again, this year we will be hosting pre-conference workshops that are always a huge success. Our overall agenda features nationally known speakers as well as a focus on topics requested by our members including the mandatory licensure requirement on human trafficking. Stay tuned for updates on registration!  Come to learn, stay to play!

The FNPN BOD held our annual retreat in January where we formulated several initiatives including measures to meet the needs of our membership. We pride ourselves on the fact that we are a membership driven organization where our goals are to continue to promote NP practice in the state of Florida.  We are excited to be able to partner and help launch both the Miami/Dade group and the Jacksonville group and look forward to future partnerships!

Our newest board member additions, the region directors have been reaching out to their respective local groups and can be easily located now on our newly updated website.

The 2018 legislative session largely revolved around our partnership with NCSBN. We thank our 1st VP of legislation, Dr. Doreen Cassarino for keeping us informed with the weekly legislative updates.

We are entering our election time again and we strongly encourage our members to get involved. The call for nominations will be opening soon!  Please let our nominating committee know if you or someone you know is interesting in a position. We are here for you!

Remember NP’s do make a difference!

We look forward to seeing everyone at our annual membership meeting in Orlando in August.
