Port St. Lucie, FL, November 10, 2019:  The Honorable Greg Oravec, Mayor of The City of Port Saint Lucie, Florida signed a proclamation designating November 10 – 16, 2019 as “Nurse Practitioner Week”.  This proclamation will be read into the record and accepted by Dr. Karin Klause, on behalf of the Treasure Coast Nurse Practitioners (TCPN), during the Port St. Lucie city council meeting to be held at 6:30PM on Tuesday, November 12, 2019. All local nurse practitioners, members of TCNP, as well as nurse practitioner students, are encouraged to attend.

For more than 50 years, nurse practitioners have been providing quality evidence-based healthcare throughout the United States. In the State of Florida, there are more than 29,100 active advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs), which includes nurse practitioners (NP), nurse midwives (CNM), nurse anesthetists (CRNA), and clinical nurse specialists (CNS).  The health of a community is dependent upon access to quality, safe, affordable, and accessible healthcare. In addition to providing healthcare, nurse practitioners also improve access to healthcare for our communities, especially for our residents that are uninsured or underserved.
