2020 Legislative Update #8

The first day of the 2020 Legislative session began by Florida House Speaker Jose Olivia granting nurse practitioner Doreen Cassarino as the ceremonial medical professional. Olivia is working to grant increased autonomy to APRN’s across the State of Florida. HB 607 will allow nurse practitioners to work without physician supervision or supervisory protocol. The legislation is waiting to be approved by its final committee, the Health & Human Services Committee.
