Legislative -2023 Session Update—Committee Week 3

The third committee week saw a flurry of activity from the governor and legislature. Governor DeSantis
tackled the issues of the teacher shortage, crime rate and announced the Hometown Heroes program’s
$50mil milestone. At the same time the Legislators were working in a myriad of areas to also include the
teacher shortage as well as address water re-use, the wildlife corridor, dangerous highways, workforce
training and the wonderfully polarizing issue of Pharmacy Benefit Managers. Buckle up. Now that things
are in full swing these reports are bound to become a lot more interesting.
