Remembering Memorial Day

How are your spending your Memorial Day?  It’s a special American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Memorial Day 2023 will occur on Monday, May 29. I invite my colleagues and friends to join in a Memorial Day Service near you to stop and thank our military and those who lost their lives defending our country. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings, and participating in parades. It’s a day we need to stop & remember. Gold Star Families will be there.
