FNPN CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS 2024-26

Dear FNPN Members,
FNPN announces the positions of President, Education Director, Treasurer, Region Directors 1, 3 & 5 and two (2) positions on the nominating committee for 2024-2026 are now open for nominations.     

To be eligible to run for the President, the nominee shall have served at least one term on the Board of Directors within the last six (6) years. To be eligible for other board positions, nominees must be current dues members of FNPN for one year prior to submission of the nomination. 

The positions of President, Education Director, Treasurer, Region Directors 1, 3& 5 and two (2) positions on the nominating committee require the following duties and responsibilities:

 

President shall:

  • Serve as the chief elected officer and shall preside over meetings of the FNPN and the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Appoints members for special projects as needed to further the work of the FNPN.
  • Appoints ad hoc committees as needed.
  • Serves as an ex-officio member of all FNPN committees.
  • Communicates with Executive Director to ensure operations and staff projects are completed.
  • Serves as the official representative of the Board of Directors and the organization.
  • Serves as Immediate Past President for one year upon the end of term of office to mentor and assist the new President.

Education Director shall:

  • Oversee all educational programs and conferences for the FNPN.
  • Ensure program accreditations are maintained.
  • Assume other duties as assigned by the President.

 

Treasurer shall:

  • Oversee the preparation and implementation of the annual budget.
  • Oversee records of all debits and credits of the FNPN.
  • Maintain checking and credit accounts, make deposits and process payments as required.
  • Report an overview of expenditures, balances and foreseeable monetary needs to the Board of Directors quarterly; Update financial   position at all Board of Directors meetings. 
  • Complete and maintain any financial documents as required by law and as assigned by the President.
  • Oversee fund raising as directed by the President and Board of Directors.
  • Be familiar with software counting programs such as QuickBooks to maintain checking and investment accounts.
  • Promptly apprise the President and Executive Director of and financial concerns or issues. 

Region Directors shall:

  • Serve as liaisons between the Board of Directors and the membership in the region that is represented.
  • Region Directors shall maintain during term of office their primary residence within their respective regions. 
  • Hold regularly scheduled meetings with their local groups.

          Region Directors 1, 3, & 5 are in this election cycle.

Nominating Committee:

  • Responsible for overseeing the FNPN nominations and elections of FNPN Board of Directors.
  • Meets on a regular basis to identify and recruit eligible members as potential candidates to vet for selected elected offices.  

Elections

Nominations for elections begin now until closure July 11, 2023. The slate of candidates will be announced July 18, 2023. Ballots will be sent electronically (or by mail if requested) to each active member of the organization.  Elections will be open from July 19- August 4, 2023.  Any persons can self-nominate or be nominated by another member. All candidates must be a current Member of FNPN to run for office. Please review qualifications required to run for office.
