Need help to veto Climate Action bill

Posted about 1 year ago by Vicky Stone-Gale

The CLEO Institute has created an important Climate Action for the health of Floridians. SB 1624 / HB 1645 passed the Florida legislature and was sent to Governor DeSantis to sign a few days ago. If signed, this bill will delay a just transition to renewable energy in the state of Florida by prohibiting some construction or expansion of offshore wind energy facilities and wind turbines in Florida, preventing localities from restricting fossil gas and liquid petroleum infrastructure, and making it harder to close coal plants in Florida.

The Governor's deadline to sign or veto this bill is May 15, 2024, and could happen anytime between now and then. If you would like to ask Governor DeSantis to veto this bill, click the link below.
