Florida Medical Directors Association Becomes First Medical Society to Support ARNP/PA Prescribing Authority in State

Kudos to the Florida Medical Directors Association for their recognition of the impact on patient care through collaborative teamwork.  JoAnn Fisher, ARNP, President of the Florida-Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association (FL-GAPNA) and member of the Florida Medical Directors Association has worked with the FMDA to help craft the position statement by the FMDA on prescriptive authority for ARNPs-PA’s.  This document helps to highlight the urgency to ensure that NPs (and PAs) must be provided the opportunity to work to the maximum capability that their education has prepared them for.  Through continued collegiality, health care partners can identify what 48 states in the U.S. have already proven time and again;  Maximum practice potential=sustained affordable healthcare access to all.  Congratulations JoAnn for your tireless efforts and our thanks for representing so many NPs in this great state!
