PURPOSE: The purpose of this national annual conference is to support a comprehensive national initiative to include education about issues specific to veteran’s health and advances in research into the nursing curriculum to better prepare nurses to care for military veterans and their families. 

The dynamic role of nursing professionals spanning nursing executives, scientists, researchers, educators, advanced practice nurses and registered nurses will engage in an educational forum specifically designed to provide current relevant core content to support veterans returning from war or deployment which face a variety of physical and psychological health care needs including: traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, suicidal ideation, homelessness, sexual trauma and substance abuse.
