ARNP Keller turns practice from sickness-based to wellness-based
ARNP KELLER TURNS PRACTICE FROM SICKNESS-BASED TO WELLNESS-BASED
Taps into fellow ARNP for help with Florida’s extended allergy seasons
Mount Dora, Fla. (September 14, 2011) – When it comes to patient health, Joanne Keller, ARNP, encourages hers to take control.
Keller, who owns the Joanne M. Keller, ARNP Women’s Health & Wellness Practice in Mount Dora (http://www.JoanneMKellerARNP.com/), motivates both men and women to be responsible for their well-being and to focus on health maintenance and prevention of health problems.
“Using nutritional counseling and self-care skills training, I’ve been able to transition my ‘sickness-based’ practice into a ‘wellness practice,’” said Keller. “My patients embrace the notion of taking personal responsibility for their own health and making lifestyle changes that contribute to healthier and more enjoyable living.”
Keller educates patients about the importance of integrating vitamins, minerals, herbs, supplements and natural products into their daily routine.
For patients who may have sinus or allergy conditions, Keller encourages them to use a product developed by fellow nurse practitioner, Ed Neuzil, ARNP, PhD and owner of the Allergy, Sinus and Asthma Family Health Center in Lady Lake, Florida.
Dr. Neuzil’s Irrigator nasal cleansing spray (www.IrrigatorNasalSpray.com) is a saline-based formula with all-natural active ingredients. Neuzil developed the spray nearly four years ago as an alternative to a Neti pot or sinus rinse. It is effective at rinsing out irritants that could lead to nasal discomfort while soothing sinus passages.
“By using the spray routinely, patients can effectively get rid of the allergic triggers that lead to discomfort,” said Keller. “Since making it available in my office, sales have been brisk and my patients report a noticeable result especially during Florida’s extended allergy seasons.”
Neuzil’s motivation to develop the nasal spray mirrors Keller’s focus on prevention of potential health problems. He created Dr. Neuzil’s Irrigator after patients refused to use other nasal therapies he prescribed to combat chronic sinus problems.
Both Keller and Neuzil agree that by employing easy, self-care behaviors, their patients enjoy healthier results.
