Florida Legislators convene March 4

Posted about 10 years ago by Jean Aertker

Florida Legislators will convene in Tallahassee next week, March 4th to begin the 2014 Legislative Session. Over the next 60 days, until the session end on May 2nd, FNPN will actively monitor and analyze legislation that could impact you and our profession. Our website and weekly email updates provided by our Lobbyist Allison Carvajal and our Legislative Action Team will provide you with what you need to know to stay informed this session. Here is the calendar for your review: http://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Calendar/2014/Session_Dates_2013-07-01_154802.PDF

Legislative Information is available online and you can track bills on the Fl Legislative: Website:  http://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sections/MyHouse/login.aspx

Our priority bills are out and we hope you will strongly advocate for passage of both. Please involve your full network of family, friends, patients, church, and organizations to get the word out to support our bills for NP Practice.

FNPN will send out ACTION ALERTS so look for them via email. We will ask you to call, write and/or email information to legislators but its good to take the time now to meet them at their home office, especially get to your local Senators. You still have time to stop by before they leave for Tallahassee!

Teams are being assembled to be in Tallahassee to cover committee meetings, if you wish to be on the team, please email Jean Aertker. FNPN Legislative chair (draertker@gmail.com) and let us add you to the calendar.

Please join your NP colleagues in Tallahassee at the ARNP reception March 24th at the Double Tree reception hosted by the Tallahassee NP Group and plan to stay for the FNA Lobby days, a great way to learn the advocacy process.
