TALLAHASSEE CAPN welcomes NPs to Tallahassee for Lobby Days.

Posted about 11 years ago by Regina Sanders

A great networking event was held at the Double Tree Hotel Monday evening bringing NPs from as far away as Miami, Naples, Orlando, Tampa and St. Petersburg. CAPN President Deb Danforth, opened the gathering and thanked the CAPN members for making this inaugural event happen and hope other statewide NP groups would join in next year to kick off lobby days.

Dr. Jean Aertker, AANP Region 11 Director and Gail Sadler, AANP Florida State Representative spoke on "Delivering the NP Message". A lively discussion on making media contacts, elevators speeches and keeping on target with our Key Messages prepared our colleagues as the make their way throughout the halls of the capital these next two days. The members attending lobby days are representing us all and we thank them for there willingness to advocate for our profession! Dr. Doreen Cassarino, President of FNPN, spoke also on the importance of being involved and knowing the legislative process. She will be leading a delegation and will speak at the senate health policy committee meeting on Tuesday 2-5 pm. We hope all can make this effort soon to make your voice heard in Tallahassee too! Thank you CAPN for enabling us to network and enjoy the comrade of fellow NPs.
