“Nurse-Led Clinics: What Factors Impact a Nurse Practitioner’s Perspective and Success?”
Posted almost 13 years ago by Regina Sanders
Dear Colleague,
Patient access to care is a significant problem expected to markedly increase over the next twenty years due to physician shortages and a population explosion of newly insured patients with progressive and chronic illness. Research shows that nurse-led clinics may be a potential solution to access if barriers to implementation can be identified and overcome.
Although many studies have examined practice outcomes of nurse-led clinics, there is a lack of current knowledge about differences for nurse practitioners (NPs) who run or wish to run a nurse-led clinic versus those who do not and if there are specific barriers or benchmarks toward success.
I am asking you to complete a 25-question research survey entitled “Nurse-Led Clinics: What Factors Impact a Nurse Practitioner’s Perspective and Success?” The survey can be completed in 20 minutes or less. All responses to the survey are
anonymous and will be reported only as group data. You may access the anonymous survey at the following link:

This research is part of my capstone project in the DNP program at Old Dominion University. Your input may greatly increase NP, policy makers’ and legislators’ understanding of the impact of nurse practitioner characteristics, beliefs, barriers and resources related to nurse-led clinics. This may provide insight into operationalizing a plan toward widespread quality patient access to healthcare.
If you have any questions or comments about this study, I would be happy
to talk with you. My direct number is 804.869.4528 or you may write to me at the address below.
Thank you in advance for participating in this important study.
Warmest Regards,
