Speaker of the House Representative Jose Oliva opens the 2020 - History made for Florida NPs!

All NPs need to stop today and thank the Florida House of Representatives for their continued support of our practice and their efforts to improve healthcare access in Florida. Please send a note to the Speaker of the House, Rep. Jose Oliva today and personally thank him for his remarks and actions to support NPs and Rep. Pigman for sponsoring HB 607. Watch the Speaker announced that Dr. Doreen Cassarino, APRN from Naples and  VP FNPN and AANP Region 11 Director, was honored to be the very first NP of the Day at the Capitol Clinic.

Next ask is for all to send a personal note to all your local legislators in the House and Senate to pass HB 607. Yesterday was a critical day for us in Tally and thanks to the members who showed up to share our message.

But it's not over. Join us for the rest of the session on a Tuesday & or Wednesday to walk the halls and show our unity. Bring your lab coat and your stories to help pass HB 607. We will show you how to do this. Our FNPN Lobbyist, Allison Carvajal, was exceptional in her efforts working with NCSBN and the other supporting groups to arrange this memorable day. But It will not happen without everyone speaking up, writing, calling, and visiting the capital.  

In all my 35 yrs. as a NP, this has never happened - that the strong message of support for NPs was included in an opening session by the Speaker of the House. Please Let Dr. Pigman and Representative Oliva and all House supporters know you appreciate their hard work. Convince your Senator this bill must pass. They must hear from you and your family and your patients. Be BOLD. It was a momentous event of support for us. Your future practice depends on you now to be a leader for change.
