COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Volunteers Sign up - Updated Information - Please post on your Group Site
Posted over 4 years ago by Jean Aertker
In December 2020, the Florida Division of Emergency management connected with FANA to seek APRN/RN volunteers to help with vaccination clinics. FANA invited the Florida APRN Coalition members to join them. Since early January, many HCW and seniors have been given the vaccine at these volunteer clinics & drive-thru services! We had such great response FDEM has now engaged a simple sign-up process with an APP called MERIT. Download the APP Here for your phone and create your profile and gain merits every time you volunteer!
Please use this site to register. FDEM will contact you. If already registered earlier through FANA with Samantha DeBee, your registration was transferred over. Just sign on to MERIT with your same info. Here is the link to register to volunteer for many upcoming vaccination clinics planned throughout Florida. Let's get the vaccine out to all who wish to have it as soon as we can! If you need more information you can contact Merit QR Key at 1-833-4MERITS or use this link.

Hello,
I have registered and reached out to my local leadership (Jodie Fiske and Wiilie Bowie) several times with no response.
It makes me wonder if I have missed a step or perhaps there is an abundance of help?
I am in region 7-
Any insight is appreciated
I too have reached out, registered, called, and emailed. I'm wondering if its true that they are looking for capable nursing volunteers?
Hi all,
I also reached out and put my name on the list and I was contacted to volunteer in Manatee County thru another NP who could not make it but put this county down as a choice. I have not heard from anyone regarding Pinellas or Hillsborough County, not sure what is going on. I was in Manatee today and most of the volunteers are from that county, we gave out more than 1500 vaccines, it was a great experience. I think it has to do with supply they are getting in the other counties. I just reached out to a contact at the Health Department in Pinellas to see if there is a need. I pass on the information if I hear anything.
I am at manatee co site today volunteering. I finally found a manatee co emergency management employee to talk to. First they have no idea how to scan the bar code on merit to record volunteer hours. They also are at this point not getting current schedules of volunteers who have signed up with merit. I was activated by np group I know they need immunizers. The rest of week here. But I have not been contacted by anyone. The new system appears to not be very efficient at present. Maybe it will change over time
