Honoring Memorial Day-Remember their sacrifice

On Monday, May 31, 2021, Memorial Day, we honor those who gave their lives while serving our nation. Please remember them and all the Gold Star families who lost their loved ones. 

The National Memorial Day Concert will again air Sunday, May 30 on PBS, hosted by actor Gary Sinise and airs from 8-9:30 p.m.  This event takes us back to the real meaning of this holiday through personal stories interwoven with musical performances. This year a special performance will be done for Vietnam Nurses Tribute!  This tribute features a performance by Emmy Award-winning actress Kathy Baker. and will honor the more than 265,000 women who served during the Vietnam War era and pay special tribute to the sacrifice and heroism of the nurses who served in Vietnam, saving thousands of lives and comforting the dying in their final moments. The experiences of Diane Carlson Evans, founder of the Vietnam Women’s Memorial in Washington, D.C., will be shared. We especially thank all nurses who have served our country and also those serving on active duty now!
