Come hear her in person discuss how you can become a true advocate for the patients and elevate our profession! Sandy is co-author of Saving Lives: Why the Media's Portrayal of Nursing Puts Us All at Risk. She runs this amazing non-profit (www.truthaboutnursing.org) which is a great resource for understanding and countering popular perceptions of nursing in the media. This is powerful information to use to counter misinformation about NPs and challenge the lack of inclusion of NPs in public service roles and committees to improve Healthcare for all especially in Florida.

Sandy was very supportive several years ago when I tried to get a negative TV commercial off the air where a frumpy looking car salesman was dressed in a lab coat depicting a “doctor” surrounded by “naughty nurses” to sell cheap cars! Her encouragement and resources posted on her website was effective in getting the TV station to send an apology letter and removed this offensive ad! Know the power of the media and your own power to end these attacks on all nursing!
Way to go Jean and Sandy!
Congratulation Sandy, Awesome work you and Team, Looking forward to meet again.
