Posted over 10 years ago by Jean Aertker
On January 9th, our new President Janet Dubois and Jean Aertker, AANP Region 11 Director, joined with 60 of our North East Florida colleagues at Jacksonville University to welcome three upcoming special election candidates to a NP legislative event. Travis Hutson for Senate district 6, Paul Renner for House district 24, and Cyndi Stevenson for House district 17 spoke to the NPs and gained information about our NP issues. It was a great opportunity to get to know them all. Laura Bailey, FNA PAC trustee & FNPN member, Bob Levy, FNA lobbyist, and lobbying team spoke about the importanance of this race and updates on other legislative events expected this session in Tallahassee. Special thanks also to FNPN member Regina Noliting along with Karen McNealy, Jim Whited, for there tremedous help to make this a successful event. JU hosted this event and we greatly appreciate thier support of NPs.
All candidates spent time visiting with the NPs in the audience. Some NPs drove up from Volusia-Flagler county and from Orlando area to join in. Hutson spoke of his committment to our bills and has voted 100% in past for NP issues, Cyndi Stevenson spoke of her gratitude to an unknown nurse who aided her husband by providing life saving first aid after being struck down while biking, and Paul Renner spoke of the importance of one vote! In his last election, he actually lost by 2 single votes, so NPs in the northeast, you vote really counts!! Please get to the polls for the Republican Primary this week in Jacksonville January 27th. You vote will count, your vote is vital! Share with family and friends. Voting is like writing out a prescription for the right patient, the right dose, and the right time. Please do the right thing - January 27th - PLEASE VOTE!
